I was so excited to hear GAP had opened in Chadstone! I love the brand!!! However i was a bit disappoointed. The pricing in Australia is ridiculous. Even at the GAP outlet store at South Wharf the stock is at least 3 years old and the mark up is absurd. GAP in America is affordable! If the Australian company who run GAP continue to have these prices they will not only lose their customers but also disappoint the huge GAP fan base in Australia. I too have coveted GAP for a long time and am lucky enough to have a father that travels to the States once a year and brings back lots of amazing stuff for my girls. let me say HOW DISSAPOINTED I WAS at the pricing of GAP here in melbourne!! the same shorts my dad bought me for $8US (ok they were on sale but started only at $12.50) were $32.95 – seriously!! GAP is an every day item its not the most amazing quality but its great for the great everday prices the US has them at! why should it become a high end price here! its ridiculous! keep using the overseas forwarding companies as I reckon the prices will never be as good here as they are over there!!

I have used boxvoyage.com heaps of times. I just order and pay with my credit card and have it sent to them. If you buy heavy winter clothes postage can be a bit pricey but still definitely works out cheaper than even target stuff here. Subscribe to Gaps email because they often send out promo codes, one just finished which was 30% off everything. Also end of season sales are excellent too.

I love Gap!! Was browsing through their kids section all the time when I was OS 6 years ago (before I even had a boyfriend, let alone a husband or was pregnant!). Now just need to have a store open in Rockhampton (or at least Adelaide so Nana can go shopping there!)

Mary, I’d love to know too. I’ve looked into this previously and whilst there are many options, it would be great to go with a service which is tried and tested. Please can you let me know which service you use?

Mary may I ask which forwarding service you use? I have been looking into doing this as my overseas trips have come to an end for a while. But I’d rather use a service recommended by someone.

I wonder if there sales will be as good as the US? I have been buying Gap using a mail forwarding service for a couple of years when the end of season sale is on, 30-50% off sometimes more and because there old season is our new season it has worked out such an affordable way to shop. I have never paid more than $20 for hoodies or jeans. They often have 30% off entire store sales too every now and again.

What was the pricing like? Its so affordable OS with hoddies being $24.95 – with the current exchange rate this should be @$29.
From your post it seems GAP have hiked up the prices??
