Up until five minutes ago, I was ready to say goodbye to the lazy, hazy days of summer and embrace winter fashion for my brood. I was mentally packing away my daughter’s floaty sundresses and imagining what wintry delights my favourite homegrown kids’ designers were conjuring to replace them. Then along came Chloé.

The Parisian design house’s new children’s collection for the northern summer is so positively gorgeous, so completely divine, that I’m wishing for a magical remote control so I can rewind our Aussie summer and live it again from the start.

Alas, life is not a bad science fiction movie so instead I’ll have to sigh and be content with imagining how my own curly-haired daughter might look in these prettier than pretty clothes when winter fades and the summer sun returns. Either that, or I can order a favourite Chloé piece or two and cross my fingers for an unseasonally warm Melbourne autumn.

Weather forecasting aside, there’s certainly one or two things here that belong on every little girls’ shopping list, like the stunning Ava cotton trench. The buttery yellow coat (€204), with its Peter Pan collar and sweet little shoulder flaps, is perfect for an Aussie autumn!

The collection includes the most elegant crop of cardigans, tees, dresses and blouses in soft-to-the-touch combinations of silk, cottons and cashmere.

Admire the stunning Chloe kids summer 2010 collection at Little Fashion Gallery, who ship to Australia whatever the weather.
