I have to say I’m a bit taken with these handmade treasures from Mexico. The colours, embroidery and design all speak to me and I must have one of the stunning blouses! Of course, my daughter can have a gorgeous dress as well. You see, this little Australian shop with an interesting story sells clothing for both mothers and their children. Sensational!
Little Thing was started by two Australian friends, one living in Mexico and the other in Sydney. Their first range ‘Mamacita’ features handmade maternity and children’s wear from Mexico, all ethically produced and sourced. Anything that is handmade with love using local materials whilst supporting the local community is a desirable thing for me.
The Mamacita range brings the beautiful embroidery and vibrant colours of Mexican cottons to Australian mothers and children in a completely unique artisan item. The icing on the cake is that when you buy a piece from Little Thing you give back as well. They donate ten per cent of the profit from each item to En Via, a non-profit organisation fighting poverty in Mexico. That’s worth a clap.
To purchase, hop on over to Little Thing’s online store, where prices range between $35-$50 for childrenswear and $40-$50 for women’s, plus postage.
