You know a designer is in tune with what kids actually want from their clothes when she calls her junior collection “Let’s Play”. Yes, Sydney designer Roberta Easton certainly knows her stuff. And play is exactly what your kids will want to do the moment they slip into something from her delightful Rowantree label.
There’s lots of frills and frippery but nothing that’s over-the-top or that will leave your kids itching or wriggling or complaining. Just sweet little clothes that they can wear without fuss – and that you can wash without fuss too. Hooray!
I adore the retro styling of Roberta’s new season Spring collection, all blues and reds in paisleys, polka dots and florals that run the gamut from sky blue to navy and every shade in between for an eclectic look that’s cowboys and Indians with a splash of sailboats thrown in for good measure. On paper, it sounds impossible but seen on children, oh how it works!

Smock dresses, pinafores and frilled skirts for girls are signatures of Roberta’s range – and for good reason – but this season she also delivers cuter-than-cute short-shorts in eye-catching polka dots and peasant blouses with stunning puffed sleeves.
The boys’ range lulls you with nautical flavoured tees but it’s the shirts that will get you in, with their retro cuts, mismatched fabric accents and smart French seams. Backyard cowboys never had it so good!
The Let’s Play range comes in sizes to fit from babies to five-year-olds and is available exclusively online at Rowantree Design. Prices start from $20 for this Australian-made label.
