In my opinion, fashion for children is most special when combining a retro flair with a modern edge. Bluebird & Honey has done just that, releasing a brand new Winter 2009 collection full of vintage inspired design. Bluebird & Honey is a new-to-the-market Australian brand focusing on cute but sophisticated wears for kids and homes. The difference with this brand is that each season, Bluebird & Honey will feature a different designer, either established or a fresh face, that will bring an entirely new aesthetic to the label. I don’t know about you but I’ll be one of those people that will continually check for updates on the new season – I wonder what’s in store next?
For this winter, the pinis for little girls are infused with a sense of nostalgia and who can say no to huge, colourful buttons? Striped and plain long sleeve tees combined with onesies and baby wraps make up baby gift sets perfect for boys or girls. All are made with the brand’s signature felt and fabric appliques of apples, elephants and mushrooms, featuring bold, geometric prints.
Everything in their collection is proudly Australian-made, with design excellence and individual character being their focal points. A great example of this is the reusable packaging. I can imagine using the glass jars as a flower vase in my house.
The official Bluebird & Honey website will be launched in coming months, but to buy now head over to Infancy which stocks the brand. The range is available in sizes infant to five years with prices starting at $49.95.
