With fabrics and lines to befit any adult collection, this Italian brand combines all the charm of a quaint seaside village with the sophistication of Milan.

Simple lines, natural materials and soft colours are the recurring themes in the Opililai collection. Handmade in Italy, there’s no mistaking the distinct laid-back air in the clothing. Colours in a muted pallet, include smoky blues, ash greys and dusty pinks – there’s not a lairy colour to be seen.

The fabric choices also reflect a more grown-up edge: cashmere bound together with jersey cotton, soft fleece and natural waxed cotton for waterproofing. The jumpers and hoodies are truly unique, and I haven’t seen anything for kids, with this much of a funk edge, coming from the Italian region before.

The range includes a baby line catering for tots up to two years old, a children’s line for two to six years and a junior collection for children aged seven to twelve. The only downside to this label is that you’ll have to take a jaunt across the Mediterranean to pick up your child’s wardrobe (if that can be classed as a downside), as they don’t ship to Australia. If you’re lucky enough to have family or friends in the region, make sure you get them to keep an eye out for this stunning collection.
