The Danish company Katvig, designs clothes for modern kids of fashion-conscious parents.
They started selling a few items in 2003 to local shops in Denmark and now distribute all over the world. Many items in the collection are available at Cow Says Moo, a UK online shop and they ship internationally. Have a look at the gorgeous raincoats, perfect for a winter day at the park. In Australia some of the Katvig items are available through Baby Goes Retro.
Some of the items available in Australia include the cotton t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts and onesies. We especially love the velvet sweatshirt in mint green for this winter which is priced at $56.00.
Blirt makes
children's organic t-shirts with really creative designs. The company
started hoping to "introduce kids to the playfulness of the English
language." I love all the designs, they are all
colorful and fun but I'd have to say my favourite designs are "Bull in a china shop" and "Bookworm".
They are based in New York but ship to Australia. Each design is available in both long and short sleeved
varieties. Prices are US$32.
Whether your kids love shoes or scream if a shoe comes near them, this new range of shoes from Livie and Luca will have them prancing around in their new shoes all winter long.
A few of my favourites are the red "veggie" boots with carrot-and-mushroom stitching (they are felt lined and super warm for winter), the orange fun dots and the Emilio navy and tan loafers.
These shoes are made for comfort and the designs are made from super
soft leather with Velcro closures and a sole that's flexible and
lightweight (which helps with stability and coordination). The toe box
is large and rounded, so tiny feet don't feel crammed and toes are free
to wiggle. Sizes, from 3.5 to 10, are designed for pre-walkers to
pre-schoolers.
Livie & Luca was started by two mums who
wanted high-quality, affordable footwear that went beyond the choices
offered at bigger stores.
Is anyone else having a hard time finding nice winter shoes for their little ones? The answer might lie with these Smith runners, from Swedish shoe designer Vincent, which are sturdy but fun and colourful. Made with an all-leather upper and interior and easy access velcro strap, they also have extra padding at the ankle and added arch support.
Available for US$44.95 from Vincent Shoe Store. Vincent has a whole range of shoes for girls, boys and babies so we recommend you check out their website.
Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best. Threadless works as an ongoing t-shirt design competition where, each week, amateur designers can submit their ideas and five or six are chosen to be printed and sold through the site. There's a huge range of designs available, for children and adults, that range from the stylish to truly funny and whimsical, and next to each is a score out of five and comments by Threadless community members.
Go to Threadless to see which design takes your fancy before having a go at designing your own. Tees start at US$15 and onesies for bubs are around US$20.
