We asked some of our favourite Babyology mum-kid teams to test the latest range of children’s swimwear from Speedo. They excitedly rose to the challenge, suiting up and heading straight outside for some sunny day, splash-fueled fun!
Get ready for fun!
While the name Speedo conjures up visions of top-quality, sleek swimwear, our mums were excited to discover that their new kids’ range offered something a little bit different.
The new range inspires adventure and fun with pops of colour and cute on-trend prints – and it’s all done in the usual Speedo premium-quality style!
“The best thing about this new range is the colours and designs. They are just SO cute, bright and really fun for little ones. The Aztec, pineapple and icy-pole designs are a hit with my girls – they just love them,” Adrienne of Stylish Bump told Babyology.
“The patterns and styles that Speedos come in for toddlers are cute and stylish with light colours for the kids and cursive cute text to follow,” says Babyologist and mum Nikita, from NJT Blogger.
“After getting the cute bathers from Speedo I went and checked out the other patterns and styles they had online. That was dangerous as they have soooo many cute colours, styles and patterns to choose from for the little ones,” Nikita laughed.

Six Little Hearts blogger and mum of six Jody loved the new range.
“We think the swimwear by Speedo is adorable! Very colourful and fashionable. Highly appealing to all ages really. The colours are delightful,” Jody said.
And over at Mums Take Five, blogger and mum Bel loved Speedo’s bright new direction.
“No more navy and black for lasting swimwear – we can now wear pink, purple and pineapples!”

Our reviewers were impressed by the practicality and design of the Speedo swimmers, noting that they were cute to look at AND fuss-free to wear. Bonus!
“Not once have I had to slide up a strap, pull down a sleeve or pull them down after they ride up on the butt. They fit really well and no matter what swimming, playing, water fun my youngster did I loved the fact that she was well covered,” Bel explained.
It seems that our tiny testers had some pretty fresh ideas on how to wear their Speedos well.
“Master 2 quite fancied his Speedos instantly and despite the weather being below 10 degrees he insisted on wearing it around the house over his jumper,” revealed mum Laura, who blogs at Mizz Mummy.
“He also wore his new Speedos whilst out washing the car and managed to find himself in a muddy puddle. No sweat for Speedos though. They came out without any problem in the wash, I was surprised!” Laura said.

Practical, visible and durable
Not only did our mums and kids love the prints and colour palette, they sang the praises of the high quality, hard-wearing fabric too.
“I was pleased to see that the fabric remained snag-free after a fairly long morning spent frolicking in the outdoors! (Garden beds, swing sets, running, sitting on the ground etc.)” Jody said.
Millie Mummy Melbourne’s Nat loved the sun smart features, quick-drying fabric, coverage and comfy fit of the styles she tested with her daughter.
“The racer-back styling on the bathers means my daughter can swim without straps falling off her shoulders and the rash vest will provide the ultimate sun protection without being restrictive and preventing her from enjoying the beach as a little kid should,” Nat said.
“The swimwear dries super-fast, allowing her to play after a swim without being dripping wet. The bathers don’t seem to absorb much water which is fantastic when having to go home – no soggy towel or wet clothes in the swimming bag!” Nat explained.
“It immediately struck me how thick and durable the fabric is. There are no see-through areas once on and you could tell the bathers are made to last.”

High vis, low maintenance
Speedo’s kids’ range stand up to all kinds of kid adventures in adorable, colourful style.
Kate, from Happy Ella After, loved the quality of the Speedo’s fabric and thought they were perfectly designed with kids in mind. “They provide just the right amount of coverage from the sun … There is enough stretch so the kids can go crazy running around the beach without feeling as though they are restricted in any way.”
“I found the Speedo’s swimmers great, my son loved the dinosaur pattern and they seemed to cope with the chlorine and survived all the rough and tumble action of my son,” Amanda from parenting blog Mummahh told Babyology.
Tahlia from The Parenting Files commented on how much her six-year-old daughter loved the bright colours and stylish feel of her swimmers. In fact, the on-trend bright colours had some extra benefits for some mums.
“I loved how I could see my kids in their bright rashies in the surf at the beach. It really helped them stand out in the water and made it easier for me to watch them,” said Lorelei, a mum of four who blogs at Craftsmumship.
