Nicky and husband, James Rothschild, welcomed their second daughter on December 20, 2017. Teddy Marilyn is a sister for 19-month-old Lily Grace, and the couple have just shared the first photo of this new little one.

A charmed life

Teddy joins her sister Lily in a very, very privileged family. James is a member of that very famous Rothschild clan and Nicky – Paris Hilton’s younger sister – part of the Hilton dynasty. Nicky’s mum is Kathy Hilton whose own siblings include Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Kyle and Kim Richards.

“The Hilton fortune is estimated at US $900 million, while the Rothschilds are rumoured to have US $700 trillion tied up in property, banks, wine, art and charities,” The UK Standard tells us, confirming that these guys are well and truly in the top bracket of the 1 percent.

This feels a bit like one of those old school society “matches” where two families come together to create an even more powerful entity, although we’re sure they must also have fallen in love.

Royal wedding

Nicky and James got engaged while holidaying at Lake Como in Italy back in 2014. They married in 2015 in their very own royal wedding, at Kensington Palace Gardens (the second for Nicky after a short-lived Vegas marriage to financier Todd Meister).

The couple seem to be mostly based in New York, where Nicky attended the famous Parsons School of Design we often see on Project Runway, but James apparently also has a London office for his private investment and advisory firm (where he’s vice-president and partner).

Home Sweet Home ?

Home sweet home

Nicky recently showed off the couple’s New York home in Architectural Digest, and we were kind of heartened that amongst the priceless antiques, there were some cute nursery picks from Etsy and Pottery Barn Kids too.

Apparently James did most of the decorating, guided by Nicky’s brief of creating a lived-in home. Wallpaper lovers will be disappointed to find out that gorgeous blue cherry blossom print is a custom design by artisans de Gournay.

“I grew up in a house full of antiques and fancy fabrics and certain rooms you weren’t allowed to go in,” Nicky told Architectural Digest. “And as a child I always told myself that I will never have that when I’m grown up; I would have a house where no room is off-limits.”

If you follow Nicky on Instagram, you can catch a glimpse at this very colourful and charmed life.
